ABOUT FLOATERS: WATCH TRAILER

Outer space - filled with elite scientists, engineers, and air force pilots. But what happens when the rest of us schmucks get there?  What happens when ordinary people can live in space as easily as astronauts?  Welcome to Floaters a new 13-episode sci-fi comedy web series, exploring life in space for everyday folks with everyday problems. Season 1 follows a community of rag-tag space dwelling drifters, where the future is a lot like now, only worse.

MEET THE FLOATERS - Season 1 follows the inhabitants of Dymaxion City, a ramshackle settlement that orbits the earth. We meet Jess & Anthony with their typical couple issues, Blake & Morgan who serve as the neighborhood troublemakers, the officious Olive Redgrave, and the casually scientific Mark Darling – they're all discovering that life manages to carry on as usual, even in space.

SERIES SYNOPSIS

Sometime in the near future, earthlings build a space elevator - a “stairway to heaven” - which reaches from the Earth’s surface 100 miles into space.  In the process, an encampment of engineers, scientists, and laborers congregate at the top. What follows is a hodge-podge of dwellers setting out to try spacelife for themselves. Drifters, common citizens, adventurers and college students are all calling “space” home, and bringing their issues and problems from Earth.

CAST & CHARACTERS

Clay Newman

Clay Newman

Clay Newman

Clay Newman

Clay Newman is a standup comedian and actor based out of San Francisco. He found his way into the roll of Blake when the producers of Floaters came across a podcast ran by Tony Cirimele (aka Morgan) and himself. The chemistry and uninformed nature of the two were obvious from the start, and translated beautifully from the podcast to Floaters.

Tony Cirimele

Tony Cirimele

Tony Cirimele

Tony Cirimele

Tony Cirimele is a Bay Area actor/director whose work has been most recently seen in the Short-Lived theater competition. A graduate of San Francisco State University’s theater program, he is also the author of the film blog “The Horse’s Head”, and former co-host of the “Spoiler Alert” podcast with Clay Newman.

Morgan Masters is Blake Rindell’s roommate, and the supportive yin to Blake’s creative yang. Attired in his ever-present trapper hat and fleece jacket, Morgan is always ready for whatever Blake (and Dymaxion City) has in store.

Becky Hirschfeld

Becky Hirschfeld

Becky Hirschfeld

Becky Hirschfeld

Becky Hirschfeld studied drama and humanities at San Francisco State University and is primarily known for appearing in staged movie parodies in tiny, black box theaters. During the day, she works as a standardized patient (aka "medical actor") and art model.

Jess Matrovsky has specific dreams and aspirations, though she is currently pays her dues in the salt mines. She usually stays with her boyfriend Anthony in his apartment. Everything's fine.

Timothy Kay

Timothy Kay

Timothy Kay

Timothy Kay

Timothy Kay is the orbiting scientific officer Mark Darling, whose claim to fame was inventing an apparatus called the Breather, which allows people to waltz around in space relatively unencumbered. He spends most of his time chasing residents around, trying to gather useless data.

Anthony Larice

Anthony Larice

Anthony Larice

Anthony Larice

Shifting in between independent projects and silver screen features, Anthony Larice has been all over the map in film. Most notably, he’s premiered his post-apocalyptic web series as well as a Firefly fan film at Comic Cons and film conventions around the country. He once said “Hello” to Seth Rogan. Seth said “Hi” back.

A lazy materialist, Anthony in Floaters, is obsessed with early-to-mid-21st Century ephemera, and spends a lot of his girlfriend's money on vintage junk. "Visiting" The Max as a documentary filmmaker, he has very little to show for it, except several hundreds of hours of interviews with his friends, at various stages of sobriety. He's never had an original thought in his life, which does not stop him from monopolizing every conversation. When confronted with actual or perceived danger, Anthony is most likely to try to throw his friends under the bus -- but he's not great at that, either. His childlike wonder does make him less intolerable. Jess will confirm.

Allison Jones-Manson

Allison Jones-Manson

Allison Jones-Manson

Allison Jones-Manson

Allison Jones-Manson plays Bernadette Champlain, a larger-than-life "Domestic Employee” that attends to the residents’ many Earthly nostalgic whims, for a small fee. Who knew vacuums and cookie platters would be necessary in space? With a silhouette for burlesque and a wit for roasting, Allison is a long-time navigator of San Francisco’s fringe scene.

Lindsay Cookson

Lindsay Cookson

Lindsay Cookson

Lindsay Cookson

Lindsay Cookson is the fearless, officious Olive Redbrave - the one who holds down the crumbling space fort and who would like to put the She in Space - whether it needs it or not. She can be seen in the halls of Dymaxion City administering safety videos, lecturing other people’s employees, and sometimes trying to date them. In the past, Lindsay has graced the San Francisco film, theater, and comedy scene via Theater Pub, Dark Room, Groundworks, and others.
